For a lot of the businesses using Threadline, the whole point of an Instagram DM is to get someone booked — a class, a consult, a fitting, a call. Today the AI handles the conversation up to that point and then hands the actual scheduling to you, on purpose: we'd rather it never promise a time it can't guarantee. The most common request we hear is to close that last gap. So we're building it.
What's coming
Appointment booking connects Threadline to the calendar you already use — starting with Google Calendar and Calendly — so the AI can see your genuinely open slots and offer them inside the DM. When a customer picks a time, it's confirmed and written to your calendar in the same conversation, without bouncing them to a separate link or making them wait for you to reply. It's designed for service businesses, coaches, studios, and anyone whose Instagram DMs are really just the front door to a schedule.
Why we're building it carefully
A booking is a promise. An AI that confirms the wrong time, double-books a slot, or offers availability that isn't real does more damage than one that simply says "let me get you scheduled." That's why booking will read availability directly from your calendar rather than guessing, and why the same confidence-and-review model that governs the rest of Threadline applies here: anything ambiguous about what the customer actually wants gets flagged for you instead of auto-confirmed.
- Connect Google Calendar or Calendly — no separate scheduling tool to maintain
- The AI offers only slots that are actually open on your calendar
- Bookings are confirmed and written back to your calendar inside the DM
- Uncertain requests are still flagged for review, not auto-confirmed
We'll announce availability here on the blog and in your dashboard as soon as it's ready. If booking is the reason you'd want Threadline handling more of your DMs, this is the release to watch for.
